“My Little French Kitchen” is first and foremost a recipe book. However, it is also a story book – celebrating French culture, style and wanderlust. As well as focusing on the prop styling for the recipe shots, I also spent time deciding which outfits would best represent my style.

If the styling in my new book has caught your eye, a good place to start (if you’re looking at replicating the look in your own kitchen) is your local second-hand shop. I love a good vintage find, and living in France has enabled me to fiercely feed my love of secondhand kitchen bits and bobs. Yes, you can fit a lot of cooking ware into a petite space, if you arrange your cupboard(s) carefully!

On My Bookshelf – Judith Kerr’s Creatures

I always dreamed that one day a tiger would turn up on my doorstep. Yep, that’s right. Judith Kerr’s delightful tale of a (charming) tiger that came to visit a little girl called Sophie was absolutely one of my most-loved stories as a child. Author of ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ and the delightful tales of Mog, Judith is one of my all-time favourite illustrators. You can imagine my excitement when I got my hands on a copy of ‘Judith Kerr’s Creatures: A Celebration of the Life and Work of Judith Kerr’, a beautiful and thoughtful retrospective of Judith’s life and work.
