Crafting away the rainy summer days

Those of you who've followed me for a while might have gathered I'm a bit of a fidget. So, to keep me busy during rainy summer weekends (there's been lots recently), I like to have lots of DIY and craft projects on hand.

More often than not these projects end up being food-related. From pickling chillies to making preserves and other edible gifts, to baking bread or drying herbs – there's an endless amount of rewarding tasks to keep me occupied in the kitchen. But, from time to time I like to exercise the artistic part of my brain by drawing, doing watercolour paintings, making gift cards, taking photographs, sewing, or decorating my home (occasionally I'll get really carried away and the tools come out for some proper DIY!).

This week over on Khoollect we've put together some great craft and DIY features, including some easy projects you can try yourself at home, as well as some interviews with a handful of talented 'makers'. I'm certainly feeling inspired to try my hand at something new! There's also the chance for you to WIN a copy of Duck Soup, the Wisdom of Simple Cooking – the wonderful new cookbook by London restaurant owners Clare Lattin and Tom Hill.

Head over to Khoollect and take a look for yourself, or get a taste for what's on offer below:
