The Little Paris Kitchen book anniversary

I can’t believe that it’s been a whole year since my book was first released. It’s been a whirlwind 12 months, and  I’ve been blown away by the the support I’ve received from all of you. So – a big thanks to everyone who has been cooking my recipes from The Little Paris Kitchen, great to have you along for the ride!

To say merci beaucoup, I’m giving away a signed copy of my book (UK edition), plus one of my original illustrations from the TV show. For your chance to win, spread the love! RT this post via twitter, facebook, share it on your blog, and have a guess at how many individual hand-painted illustrations are featured in my book (not including any double ups)? Leave your answer as a comment on my blog. A clue – they took me a long time to paint!

And as a little celebration of the book’s first birthday, have a go at the Little Paris Kitchen pop quiz! [WpProQuiz 1]

One of my original illustrations featured in the book

  30. Hey Rachel I enjoy watching your show ever since it came on air in South Africa, im 14 years old and have been learning to cook using most of the tips i learnt from your show, i just have 1 question besides a creme anglaise( not sure if thats the right spelling) do you have any other tips on keeping a cake moist? btw i just have to say that your giggle is adorable

    1. Hi Dwight, Great to hear you’re enjoying the show. There are quite a few tricks to keeping cake moist. The most important one is to not to over bake it. Take it out the oven when the cake bounces back slightly when you touch it or when you insert a knife and it comes out clean (a few little crumbs can stick on it). Also don’t immediately take it out of the cake tin. This stops the moisture from all evaporating from the cake.
