Eat/share/listen: Frankie Unsworth

Those of you who've been following me for a while will probably have noticed when it comes to my work there's one person who keeps on popping up, Frankie Unsworth. We first met in Paris and since then have been on countless adventures together. We've also run some fab events together, focusing on design and food called Edible Tales in Melbourne, Sydney and Buenos Aires. Needless to say, Frankie is a trusted companion of mine.

Frankie has worked as a food stylist, recipe developer and food writer for years. She's worked on all my TV shows as the home economist as well as helping me out with testing recipes and doing a beautiful job food styling my latest book 'Rachel Khoo's Kitchen Notebook' which is out next month.

So, who better than to feature in my first Eat/share/listen of the year? Over to you, Frankie...

(eat) my fail-safe dish...? I don't think you can never go wrong baking a whole Mont d'or, serving it with some boiled new potatoes, crunchy lettuce, gherkins and charcuterie. It's particularly good for combating the mid-winter blues and pretending you are in an Alpine ski lodge.

(eat) favourite restaurant/cafe/bar and why…? 40 Maltby Street is one of my all time favourite places in London. Just being there makes me happy, it reminds me of the bustling vibe in a French wine bar after the morning market has finished. You can perch up at the bar and work your way through the list of wines opened that day on the chalkboard. There's also often a ham on the bar, which they carve up and serve with mustard and bread. It's bliss.

(share) can't get through the day without... Multiple cups of coffee (it's probably the first thing I think about when I wake up) and a power walk around Victoria Park with my dog.

(share) recent inspiring find I've discovered online... My most recent inspiring find was this stunning video set on the Palais Garnier choreographed by Benjamin Millepied.

I also like to regularly torture myself by browsing the houses on The Modern House; it features houses built from the 1930s onwards, beautifully designed, intriguing properties.

(listen) a tune I turn up on the radio... I'm currently listening to Young Fathers on repeat, they won the Mercury Prize last year for their album 'Dead'. When I get into something I play it over and over until I ruin it for myself forever, and everyone else around me...

(listen) a quote that resonates with me... Because I watched the BBC adaptation of one of my favourite Roald Dahl books last night 'Esio Trot' and I found this one very moving: "Love wasn't put in your heart to stay. Love isn't love until you give it away."

Thanks so much for sharing Frankie - you can see more of Frankie's work on her website, or follow her on TwitterInstagram and Pinterest to keep track of her culinary escapades.
