Portuguese Monday Musings

windows of lisbon

*With my trip to Lisbon is fresh on my mind, I couldn’t resist starting off my Monday Musings with these gorgeous windows of Lisbon – shot by Portuguese photographer Andre Vicente Goncalves. His beautiful series Windows of the World is composed of windows from different buildings that he encounters on his travels. (via lostateminor).

*Strawberry cheesecake ice cream pie – great way to take advantage of strawberry season. (via Smitten Kitchen).

*Loving these 20th century vintage circus posters. The 1967 ‘Zircus Aeros’ poster is a particular favourite of mine.

*Some more indoor herb garden inspiration for you here. Love the idea of repurposing old Twinings tins and pretty tea cups – could make a lovely gift too!

*Something to add to my summer playlist. What tracks are you adding to yours this summer?

  1. Hi, Rachel!! I can’t believe you have been in Lisbon; I’m a big fan of your show at 24Kitchen 😀 you use so much ingredients that I don’t like to eat like cheese or bacon, but in general your recipes are so nice ^^ Keep the good work, and “felicidades” (it’s the portuguese word for “cheers”). Kisses

  2. @ LILIANA RAQUEL – I feel compelled to correct a past comment …Cheers in Portuguese is ” Saúde” .
Rachel Khoo is an inspiration on many different aspects one of them is her capacity to enjoy a culture/tradition that is not exactly hers and still learn about it in such depth that she can easily represent it or simply “talk” about it via her wonderful cooking. So I find it sad when I see someone who is meant to know about her/his own roots and still misrepresents it for lack of knowledge.

Rachel Khoo creations are simply wonderful, tasty, sweet … a great way to experiment new corners of the World at your own table. I would lobe to see Rachel dedicating some time into a more ethical way of cooking, and I mean tasty recipes for yummy non meat/fish related tresors.
