Peek-a-look* – November

This month I’m giving you a peek into my lipstick collection. I’ve been wearing lipstick for quite a while now. Here are my favourites:

*1 – Cherry Lush by Tom Ford: I wore this for my TV show “The Little Paris Kitchen”. It has a slight pink tone and is semi matte which means it doesn’t totally dry out your lips.

*2 – Red Carpet by Bobbi Brown: This is my latest purchase in my red lipstick collection. It’s a deep intense red which gives you a full red lip. No hiding your lips with this lipstick on!

*3 – Red Russian by MAC: An old-time favourite of mine. You can’t go wrong with this shade of red, with its slightly blue undertones (which will make your teeth look whiter).

*4 – Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden: After a full day of wearing lipstick my lips needs some TLC and it doesn’t get much better than Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream.

*5 – Schiap by Nars: When I’m not in the mood for red lipstick I reach for this. Fun and fresh alternative.

Nothing like some colourful lippy to make cooking more glam!

    1. Hi Chloe, I don’t wear any eyeshadow but just a slick of dark brown eyeliner. Will reveal all other make up products in another peek-a-look soon!

  1. Inspired by your programmers I started wearing red lipstick this summer. I couldn’t believe the difference it made, people kept saying I looked so well. Just one small thing and it appeared to change my whole wardrobe. Thanks for being an inspiration x

  2. Thanks, I was wondering, too! Have been on the search for a perfect red lipstick. The Bobbi Brown looks good, will be trying that out soon!

  3. Rachel – at last! I’ve been dying to know what your amazing lippies were. Heads to MAC for Russian Red on the way home… By the way, my hubby and I think you’re brilliant. 🙂

  4. Hi Rachel –
A red that I love – I think discontued was Foreign Affair by DVF. Try to find it ( I am half asian as well. Really good shade!)

  5. Rachel- I’m Hapa too (mom Chinese from Singapore and dad Midwestern American “Heinz 57”) with a passion for all things polka dot, vintage and rockabilly. Red lipsticks are a natural choice for us Eurasian mixed girls. My go-to lip colors are MAC Red and MAC Rebel (for those gothy days). I just got your cookbook and its Ah-mazing! Great photography and I actually loved following the recipes. Thanks for sharing your passion for cooking, style and Paris with us!

  6. Dear Rachel,
I’m from Brazil and yesterday I saw the last episode of your “Little Paris kitchen”.
It was very inspirational and I will try to do the Fillet wellington.Hope you continue the show.I’m a doctor and love to cook on weekends!
I will try to find your book here in Brazil.

  7. Hi Rachel, I think that your cooking show is wonderful.. I would also like to say that your makeup is stunning and would love to know what else is in your makeup bag. Kind Regards Louise (Australia)

  8. I love the red lipstick you wear on the show believe it or not, that is what attracted me to your show in the first place. Thanks for sharing what color and what kind you wear. I will be looking for the same when I go shopping. I also like the show for the food too! You make Paris seem like a place I want to visit some day.

  9. Thank you for being so inspiring! I’ve always had it in my head that you have to have one of those beautiful decked out kitchens in order to cook amazing meals (no idea why) But watching your show it’s amazing you CAN cook in the most tiniest of places. I have no excuse now!

  10. I’m half Chinese & wear Schiap, Russia Red & Bobbi Brown’s Red already, must be our colouring? Will check out the Tom Ford. Incidentally, why isn’t this feature called Peek-A-Khoo? 😛
