Peek-a-look* – Picnic planning

My friends and family can attest that I am a true picnic lover. As soon as there’s even a hint of sunshine I’m already reaching for my picnic basket and dusting off the nearest picnic blanket. Even though the European summer seems far off on the horizon after a somewhat non-existent spring, surely the weather has to sort itself out sometime soon, right?

When the sun does show its face, here are some of my go-to bits and bobs when planning a picnic:

1* – If you’ve got time, hang some cute decorations up so your guests can easily find you in the park.

2* – Keep your picnic basket or market bag organised and ready to go, so you can always say oui, oui to spur of the moment picnics when the sun comes out! I use a French-style market bag.

3* – If I had a car I’d always keep my picnic blanket in it, to whip out for impromptu picnics! Love this Tweedmill range, and the blankets and rugs from Urban Outfitters. I also like to keep a chopping board in my picnic basket. It comes in handy for last-minute preparations, and also makes for a nice serving platter.

4* – How cool would it be to have one of these picnic charcoal grills (via @NotCot)? Might even be handy to have at home too!

5* – I’m always on the look out for hats like this one from H&M to add to my collection, and love whipping them out for picnics. Not necessarily the most practical purchase when travelling – they don’t fold up in a suitcase so well!

  1. I love your show and blog – truly creative. I am also a big fan of picnics – OXO has a line of celery green top plastic containers that work well with transport

  2. Bonjour Rachel:
