eat/share/listen with Andrew Kinsman
I've always been interested in creatives who combine art with music, and artist and musician
is the perfect example. I was lucky to be a part of Andrew's 'Paris Bubble' project.
Check out this video of Andrew's painting of me
(in my little Paris kitchen). Love the detail! Andrew shared with me his thought process behind the project: "The idea of the 'Bubbles' has been developing over the last five years. In short, the compositions hopefully allow the viewer to see a snapshot of the sitter's life during one measured breath. The subject is very often in profile encouraging the eye to gaze through the transparency of the bubble into the background opening into a fragment of the sitter's life. This simple concept is the variant throughout my work."
Here are some of Andrew's favourite things (including some cafe tips for those in London), as part of my eat/share/listen blog feature. Merci, Andrew.
(eat) my fail-safe dish…
Eggs Florentine.
(eat) favourite restaurant and why… I have two favourites in Balham (London) where I just moved from. Lavish Habit on Bedford Hill. Great atmosphere, chilled out with great cakes and often live music. Second is Bertie and Boo on Balham High Street. I love sitting in their deck chairs eating their famous chocolate brownies from an old school desk watching the traffic go by.
(share) can’t get through the day without… Coffee, black. It really is my only vice.
(share) recent inspiring find I’ve discovered online…
I saw this link to
recently. I get a lot of inspiration from photographers, especially ones that capture
.
One of photographer Kyle Thompson's amazing self portraits
(listen) a tune I turn up on the radio… To me, this man is the most credible male jazz vocalist around at the moment. His range and understanding of the music always leaves me speechless.

(listen) a quote that resonates with me… "Always do whatever's next" – George Carlin.
You can see Andrew's 'Football Heroes' exhibition on display in London. Details here.
