Co-host on Australia’s Just Desserts

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be co-hosting a new competitive cooking series to seek out the most talented dessert makers in Australia.

On Zumbo’s Just Desserts, I’ll be working alongside famous pâtissier Adriano Zumbo to put amateur dessert cooks to the test and challenge their abilities to find the best and brightest patisserie stars.

This is my first time working with Adriano Zumbo. He’s an extremely talented pâtissier and I’ve been a fan of his work for a long time. He makes the most stunning range of cakes, pastries and sweet delights.

Just Desserts is the latest foodie offering by Australia’s Channel 7, makers of My Kitchen Rules which I appeared in earlier this year.

Keep your eyes peeled for more details to come.

  1. I am really glad that some lucky person is going to be rewarded with your talent and expertees good luck on the show, but would rather see you on Saturday Kitchen, they are struggling to find a good replacement for James.

  2. I think you should host the Saturday Kitchen because you are natural, talented and down to earth. You are my only favourite Chef.

  3. Unfortunately Rachel Zumbos just deserts is a complete disaster for the 7 Network. I have watched a number of your shows all great btw and being a Aussie I was eager to see what this could offer to us home cooks and sadly whilst the contestants can create there is no commentary in regards to some of the basic mistakes they are making. The ratings reflect the failure of the show. Which of us home cooks has a blast chiller ? really how about giving the poor home cooks a idea of real time taken to create the desserts with just basic fridge and oven.

It was interesting to see the same graphics used on Zumbos as was used on Creme de la Creme.

All the best Rachel you are a talent but this show has let you down.

    1. Hi Monty
Sorry you feel that way. I certainly learnt a lot from doing the show (working Zumbo and Gigi was very inspiring and educational). Using a regular fridge in competition settings would be very difficult considering all the elements the contestants had to make in the limited time.
What I love is to take inspiration from any culinary setting whether professional or amateur and use elements of what I find exciting and interesting in my cooking.
      Thanks for your honest feedback.
      Rachel
