And the price is...
Yes, that's 2€54 for all this! I couldn't quite believe the price considering that it's local, seasonal and sold in the city of Lyon. You can't get even get the same amount of fruit and vegetables from a cheap supermarket for the same price (the same shop would probably cost 3x the price at my local market in Paris).
I bought my groceries at a farm in the 9th district of Lyon. They have a little shop which is open Monday and Thursday 5-8pm that sells whatever they've grown.
I had to walk across town and up a hill to find the place but it was definitely worth it!
The farm is a bit hidden away. Walk down a little road, through a big door and down a dark corridor you'll find the shop.
A treasure trove of seasonal vegetables grown on the farm. Potatoes, fennel, cabbage, salad, peppers, onions, chard, aubergines, pumpkins...and some delicious apples and pears.
Plus eggs from the chickens scratching away at vegetable peelings in the backyard.
Perraud Louis Pierre, 32 rue des Docteurs Cordier 69009 Lyon. Open Monday and Thursday 5-8pm.
