Lost in Wales
Went for a little bit of a ramble with my assistant Frankie in the Welsh countryside on Saturday afternoon in the build up to The Big Welsh Bite festival.
The landscape was beautiful, but we managed to get submerged in a swampy bog, enshrouded in brambles and forced to cross small rivers by swinging Tarzan style across. And this was having requested from the reception the most shoe-friendly route for a casual stroll. She had suggested the road path to the Norman church...
We found the church, but got carried away down a country path that took our fancy. A few 'short cuts' later and we were thoroughly lost, depending only on our Google Map navigation (there were certainly no passers by to help) and our own sense of orientation (limited to say the least).
A few hours later and after a series of hysterical giggling sessions, we reemerged at the hotel, smeared in mud. But, fortunately, both in one piece, or our Welsh hosts would not have been too happy with us...
