Chez Aline

Catching up with friends and checking out new places is one of my favourite things to do in Paris (or any city). And that's what I did for lunch today.

Anne Ditmeyer, another Paris based creative freelancer (check out her blog for some great Paris tips) and I headed to the recently opened Chez Aline.

Chez Aline is a fab little (almost the same size as my kitchen) lunch place where Delphine Zalpetti (ex Le Verre Volé) cooks up fresh simple dishes. The place used to be a horse butchers hence the old sign "chevaline" with a neon lit horse that still hangs outside. Bright yellow tiles welcome you on the inside.

Crunchy and slightly chewy fresh baguette with a crisp veal milanese (veal in breadcrumbs), onion pickles and salad. The best sandwich I've had a long time in Paris.

Homemade Tiramisu or thick vanilla chantilly cream with fresh strawberries for dessert.

My tip: Get there early if you want to grab one of the 4 bar seats!

Plat du jours: 9€ - Sandwiches: 7€ - Desserts: 5€50

Chez Aline 85 rue la roquette 75011 Open Mon - Friday 12 - 7pm

If you want to read more about my favourite Parisian places, head over to Khoollect and read Rachel Khoo's 24 hours in Paris. You'll get the ins and outs of how I spend a day in one of my favourite cities in the world.
