This week I bid a brief au revoir to my little Paris kitchen and headed to London for some meetings. Here are some of my Instagram snaps (you can follow me at @rachelkhooks). Nice to be back in the UK!

So thrilled to be a part of the Marie Claire Inspire & Mentor program, it’s a real honour! The mentorship scheme brings together six women (myself included!) to help put dreams into practice. We’ll be providing business, career and general advice to six Marie Claire readers (we’ll each be mentoring one person) over the course of this year. If you’re interested in having me as your mentor, (or one of the other lovely ladies participating in scheme), you can apply online here.

The more places I visit the more I realise that street harassment is a real issue. Brooklyn-based artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh has taken the bold and courageous step to tackle street harassment through her artwork. Sick and tired of being catcalled on the street, she decided to express her frustrations (and those of women all over the world) via her art. Check out her sketches and messages on her blog.

Next up on my eat/share/listen Q&A is leatherworker and bag designer Charlotte Brooks. (You might spy me wearing Charlotte’s handiwork here on Pharrell William’s YouTube channel i.am.other!). Charlotte makes her handstitched bags in the UK, and they are gorgeous! Thanks for your time, Charlotte.

Salmon, you’re my ingredient of the month this May! I have to say that right now is absolutely the best time of year to get your hands on the freshest salmon around. Whether you plan on grilling it on the barbecue, tossing it through a salad, or adding to a baked dish topped with cheese – you can be quite confident that you’ll be able to whip up a simple and delicious dish with good-quality salmon. My tip? Keep it simple and let the flavour do the talking.

My latest recipe in my Evening Standard column combines my favourite Japanese condiments with a French touch — Dijon mustard. Try out my Miso salmon and sesame soba noodles here. Bon appétit!

This week I headed back to Provence to work on the final shoot for my new book! The team and I are shooting around Marseille, Avignon and Cucuron. Such a lovely part of the world. Catch me on Instagram for some snapshots of our adventures in the South of France

Will you be cooking this Food Revolution Day? Now, normally I don’t ever need an excuse to cook for friends (or with friends – or to eat food made by my friends!), but Food Revolution Day is the perfect opportunity to organise a get-together and celebrate all things food.

I’m visiting Leiths School of Food and Wine in London for a special workshop on Saturday October 26. We’ll be cooking recipes from my new book (coming out this autumn). The one-day workshop will focus on some of my favourite regional French cuisine, inspired by my recent travels in France. I’ll be sharing plenty of tips along the way too
